Maquoketa State Park

I'm trying to catch up on our blog a little bit so bear with the old posts....I'll soon be caught up and you'll get what's going on in our current life :)

The end of September we went to Maquoketa State Park in Iowa and met Jon, Emmalee and Colton. Of course on our way out of town we had to stop by Janice and Paul's and grab some camping gear. We camped Friday night, got up and had yummy campfire breakfast and then explored some really cool caves. I slept awesome and even slept-in which was a little unusual for camping. One thing about camping in the Midwest is that you never really go to the "mountains." Our cute little campsite was literally in a bunch of trees surrounded by corn fields. It's a little different from having the mountains and big hikes to go on, but I still loved it.

Before we left we stopped at Paul and Janice's for some camping gear

Mark with our new campfire popcorn maker. It took a lot of effort for such a small amount of popcorn, but we LOVED it!

After our camping and exploration we went back to Jon and Emmalee's and relaxed for the rest of the weekend. Fun times!
