And Thus it begins

How it all began!

Okay folks, here it is, this is the story of how Mark and I met. I have a different version than perhaps Mark does, but since I have the ambition password for this blog...You'll get my version of how Jenna Richins became Mrs. Mark Day!

Mark and Nate Walbruch (my brother-in-law) have been good friends since High School/Seminary days after several years of Ashley and Nate being hitched they finally decided that both Mark and I needed serious HELP and PERSUASION if we were ever to get married. Little did anyone no that they were going to HELP and PERSUADE us to marry each other!

I remember it was around Christmas time of 2010. I had to stay in CO over the holidays and work, so I was stuck there with no family and my roommate had gone home to see her own family. Anyway, it was a slow night at work and my sister randomly called me. My sister and her family had been visiting MN for the holiday season. My sister and I talked for quite some time about random things and then she decided that she was going to set me up with Mark. Apparently they had spent some time together while Mark was also home visiting family in Rochester. I kind of blew it off like so many other"set-up" situations. I think my sister had asked me to email/call him and I had refused. I figured it was "his job". Needless to say Mark was not consuming my every thought! Don't worry this changes! Sometime in late January/early February I got an email from this random "Mark Day" character that I had heard about several months ago. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't somewhat flattered! I mean, who wouldn't be right? Without boring people, and going into too much detail, suffice it to say that we exchanged about 10 emails form late January until late June....that's right folks! A whole email per months is about all Mark could muster up to email this amazing CO girl! He now gives me every excuse in the book as to why he didn't email frequently.

Okay...moving on. So after several months of RANDOM, and I mean RANDOM, emails I heard that Ashley and Nate were making the trek from NC to MN. Well, I needed a break from work and decided that I would join them out in MN for the 4th festivities. Randomly, Mark's family was having a family reunion that same week that I was going to be there. So he was clearly not leaving town.

This is starting to get really long.....Proceed Jenna, proceed. So, I flew out and Mark and I met! Through several crazy circumstances (tornadoes, fallen trees, travel time, etc.) Mark and I spent more time together than initially planned. Good thing because sparks were flying for both of us!

Because I was still living in CO we did a long distance relationship. We were engaged in November and I moved to Rochester to be with Mark in December. We got married in April in Salt Lake City, Utah. It was one of the best days of my life. We were surrounded by family, the weather was fantastic and I was sealed and married to the most wonderful man I have ever known. Here are some pictures that explain what a wonderful day it was!
